This tour unearths the burial history and practices of seven distinct cultures through time within New York City : Protestants, especially early Dutch and British colonists, the Lenape, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, African-Americans and Chinese-Americans. The tour visits three cemeteries and explores one of the greatest American archeological burial finds of modern times. We'll decode some early colonial grave art, learn about the many Potter's Fields of New York that we now play in, and much more.
